Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Velliu ("we," "us," or "our") governing your use of velliu.com and all associated applications and services (collectively, the "Service").

By registering for an account, accessing the Service, or clicking "I agree," you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Velliu provides a suite of personal finance web applications designed for Canadians, including:

• Velliu — personal budgeting and expense tracking
• Velliu Junior — children's money management under parental supervision
• Velliu Teen — financial literacy and expense tracking for teenagers
• Velliu Pro — CRA-compliant accounting and invoicing for self-employed Canadians

Velliu is a financial tool, not a financial advisor. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. Always consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.

To use the Service, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age (for Velliu and Velliu Pro)
• Be a resident of Canada or access the Service for Canadian financial purposes
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, notify us immediately at hello@velliu.com.

Velliu Junior and Velliu Teen accounts must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian. By creating such an account, you confirm you have the authority to do so.

We reserve the right to refuse registration or terminate accounts at our discretion, particularly in cases of suspected fraud or misuse.

Billing: Premium subscriptions are billed monthly. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically each month unless cancelled.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain Premium access until that date.

Refunds: We offer a pro-rated refund within 7 days of your initial subscription purchase if you are not satisfied. After 7 days, subscription fees are non-refundable. To request a refund, email hello@velliu.com.

Beta codes: If you subscribed using a beta access code, the terms associated with that code apply for the duration specified. Beta pricing is not guaranteed to continue after the beta period ends.

Price changes: We may change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice by email. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are inclusive of applicable taxes where required by law.

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Use the Service for any illegal activity or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools against the Service
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or content designed to disrupt the Service
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Share your account credentials with others

Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

You retain full ownership of all financial data, notes, and content you enter into the Service ("Your Data"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process Your Data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

We do not sell, share, or use Your Data for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your information.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter. Velliu is not liable for financial decisions made based on data entered into the Service.

The Service, including its design, code, branding, logos, copy, and all associated content, is owned by Velliu and protected by Canadian and international copyright and intellectual property law.

The Velliu name, ✦ logo mark, and associated brand assets may not be used without our express written permission.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works based on the Service without our prior written consent.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
• Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any financial information or calculations
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service
• Security of data transmission or storage (though we implement industry-standard security measures)

Velliu is a budgeting tool and does not provide financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. Any calculations, projections, or figures shown in the Service are estimates only.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, Velliu shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or financial losses.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Velliu in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

You may delete your account at any time from the account settings page. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if we determine you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or if required by law.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 07 (Intellectual Property), 08 (Disclaimer), 09 (Limitation of Liability), and 11 (Governing Law) survive termination.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ontario, Canada. By using the Service, you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
